How Do You Get Paid on Vinted? Wallet, Payouts and Timing for US Sellers (2026)
How do you get paid on Vinted in the US? Activate your Wallet, ship, wait for the buyer to confirm, then withdraw to your bank. Timing, limits, ID checks and fixes.

You get paid on Vinted through your Vinted Wallet, in three steps. When a buyer pays, the money shows as "Pending balance" while you ship. Once the order is completed (the buyer taps "Everything is OK", or 2 days pass after delivery with no complaint), Vinted says you receive the payment within 2 days as "Available balance." Then you withdraw it to your US bank account, which can take up to 5 business days to arrive. The Wallet is run by the payment provider Adyen, you must activate it before you sell, and Vinted charges sellers no selling fee, so you receive the full item price.
That is the short answer to how you get paid on Vinted. The rest of this guide explains what each stage means, how long the whole chain takes in practice, how to set up your Wallet and bank account, why a withdrawal gets paused or fails, and what happens to your money when a buyer reports a problem. Every rule below comes from Vinted's own help pages.
Vinteer is not affiliated with Vinted
This guide summarizes Vinted's public help pages as read on October 23, 2026. Vinted and its payment provider can change payout rules at any time, so check your Wallet screen and the Help Center before you rely on a deadline.
How you get paid on Vinted, step by step
Here is the full path from a buyer's checkout to cash in your bank, using the terms you will see in the app:
- Activate your Vinted Wallet. You need it to sell. Do it before your first sale.
- A buyer checks out with "Buy now." The payment appears in your Wallet as Pending balance. You cannot spend or withdraw it yet.
- You ship within 5 business days with the prepaid label Vinted gives you.
- The package is delivered. The buyer then has 2 days to press "Everything is OK" or "I have an issue."
- The order is completed. Vinted says you receive the payment within 2 days, and it moves from Pending balance to Available balance.
- You withdraw to your bank, or leave the money in your Wallet to spend on Vinted. A withdrawal can take up to 5 business days to arrive.
Only orders paid with the "Buy now" button go through this flow. Payments made outside Vinted's system are not covered by its Refund Policy.
What the Vinted Wallet is
The Vinted Wallet is where your earnings from sold items are stored. Vinted's help page calls it "a secure wallet," and some pages call the same thing your Vinted Balance. Three facts matter for sellers:
- It is provided by Adyen N.V. Vinted says Adyen provides and manages every seller's Wallet, and that by activating it you become Adyen's client and agree to Adyen's terms. Vinted adds that this means it does not transfer or hold your money itself.
- You cannot top it up. It only stores earnings from items you sold. You do not need a Wallet to buy on Vinted.
- Money you do not withdraw is spent automatically. Funds in your Available balance are applied to your next purchase on Vinted, covering the item price, the Vinted fee and shipping. If an item costs more than your balance, you pay the rest with another payment method.
That last point catches people out: if you want the cash in your bank, withdraw it before you buy anything else on Vinted.
Pending balance vs Available balance
| Balance | What it means | Can you use it? |
|---|---|---|
| Pending balance | A buyer has paid, but the order is not completed. The money is held by the payment provider. | No. Vinted says funds in Pending balance cannot be withdrawn. |
| Available balance | The order is completed and the payment has been released to you. | Yes: withdraw to your bank or spend it on Vinted. |
Vinted explains why the pending stage exists: its payment provider holds the money "to temporarily delay it from reaching the seller," which it calls common practice in online marketplaces. If something goes wrong, Vinted may refund the buyer under its Refund Policy, unless the two of you agree on a different resolution.
How to set up your Wallet and bank account
You do this once, ideally before you list your first item.
Activate the Wallet. Tap your profile icon, select Wallet, then Activate Wallet. Vinted asks for your full name, date of birth, address and a partial Social Security number if applicable, and/or a copy of your passport, ID card or driver's license if applicable. Your details go to the payment provider, not to Vinted: its help center says Vinted does not store or even have access to the documents you provide. If you skip activation, Vinted's help page says to verify within 5 business days of your first sale and before you send the item, while its User Terms say within 5 calendar days; either way the order is canceled if you miss it, so activate the Wallet before your first sale. If you later need to correct your first name, last name or date of birth, you have to contact Vinted's support team, because you cannot edit those fields yourself.
Add your bank account. Go to your profile, Settings, Payments, and under Withdrawal options press Add bank account. Vinted asks for:
- Your full name as it appears on your bank account
- Your account number, entered as one continuous string with no spaces
- Your billing address
Vinted's rules for the account are specific: it must be a supported US account, you withdraw only in US dollars using an account and routing number, and each bank account can be linked to only one Vinted profile. You cannot withdraw in other currencies or to accounts outside the US. The name you enter should match the account holder's name.
One bank account, one Vinted profile
If you use the same withdrawal bank details for more than one Vinted account, Vinted says the withdrawals will fail. If you run a second account for family items, give it its own bank account.
How to withdraw money from Vinted
Once money is in your Available balance, and your bank details are saved, Vinted lists these two steps:
- Open your Vinted Wallet.
- Press Withdraw to bank account.
You can follow it afterward under Wallet, then History, and pick the year. For each withdrawal Vinted shows the amount, the date and time it started, your bank account details (partly hidden), and the date the payment arrived or is expected to arrive.
A few rules apply to every withdrawal:
- It can take up to 5 business days for the funds to reach your bank. Vinted defines business days as Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and public holidays.
- The minimum is $0.10. A withdrawal below that fails.
- You can only withdraw completed orders. Anything still in Pending balance has to wait.
- A started withdrawal cannot be canceled.
- No withdrawal fee is listed. Vinted's price list (last updated October 8, 2026) names only the buyer's Vinted fee and the optional Bump on the seller side, and the withdrawal help pages describe no charge. Check your own withdrawal screen to confirm before moving a large amount.
Also expect an odd name on your bank statement. Vinted's withdrawal issues page says it may not read "Vinted": you may see one of its payment providers' names instead, such as "Vinted Pay," "Adyen," "Mangopay" or "Leetchi."
How long does Vinted take to pay?
Vinted does not publish one number, because the chain has several windows and two of them depend on you and your buyer. The rules it does publish are:
| Stage | Window | Who controls it |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer pays | Pending balance starts | Buyer |
| You ship | Up to 5 business days (extendable by 3 or 5 business days if the buyer agrees) | You |
| Delivery | Typically 1 to 3 business days for First-Class Package Service and Priority Mail | Carrier |
| Buyer review | 2 days after Vinted notifies the buyer that the item should have arrived | Buyer |
| Release to you | Within 2 days of the order being completed | Vinted |
| Bank transfer | Up to 5 business days after you withdraw | Your bank |
Putting those windows together is our own estimate, not a Vinted promise, and the ranges below are examples built from the published windows:
- Fast case: you ship the next day, USPS delivers in 1 to 2 business days, and the buyer taps "Everything is OK" right away. The money can be available a few days after the sale, and in your bank up to 5 business days after you withdraw. Our estimate for this case: roughly one to two weeks from sale to bank.
- Slow case: you ship on day 5, delivery takes 3 business days, the buyer waits out the full 2 days, release takes 2 days, and the bank takes 5 business days. Our estimate for this case: about three weeks.
- Problem case: if the package is lost or the buyer reports an issue, the order is suspended and your money stays pending until it is resolved. Vinted says a package can take up to 25 business days to arrive, and an investigation can take several weeks.
So when someone asks "how long does Vinted take to pay," the honest answer is that Vinted gives windows, not a date. Our estimate is a week or two after you ship, and longer if the buyer is slow to confirm or something goes wrong. Shipping early is the one lever you fully control. Our guide to Vinted shipping covers deadlines, labels and lost-package compensation.
A worked example in dollars
Say you sell a $60 jacket and a $25 pair of boots in the same week, and the buyers pay shipping and the Vinted fee on top.
| Event | What you see in the Wallet |
|---|---|
| Both buyers pay | Pending balance: $85.00 |
| Jacket delivered, buyer taps "Everything is OK" | Within 2 days: $60.00 moves to Available balance, $25.00 still pending |
| Boots delivered, buyer does nothing | After 2 days the order is completed, then within 2 days: $25.00 moves to Available balance |
| You press Withdraw to bank account | $85.00 leaves your Wallet, and arrives in up to 5 business days |
Two details make the numbers simple. First, the buyer's Vinted fee is usually 5% + $0.70, so about $3.70 on the jacket, but that is charged to the buyer, not subtracted from you. Second, any sales tax is added to the buyer's total and, in Vinted's words, "won't impact your earnings." You receive $85.00 for $85.00 of items. Use the free Vinted fee calculator to see the buyer's total and your payout at any price.
If you would rather leave the $85.00 in the Wallet, it is applied to your next Vinted purchase automatically.
Why is my Vinted money still pending?
Pending balance is normal until the order is completed. Check these in order:
- Have you shipped? Without a shipment there is nothing to deliver. If you miss the 5 business day deadline, Vinted cancels the order and refunds the buyer.
- Is the package delivered? The 2 day buyer window only starts after Vinted notifies the buyer that the item should have been delivered or seems lost. Tracking can take up to 48 hours to appear.
- Is the buyer still deciding? Vinted completes the order 2 days after delivery if the buyer neither confirms nor reports a problem. You cannot rush it.
- Did the buyer press "I have an issue"? Vinted then suspends the order and holds the payment safely until it is resolved. Resolution can mean a full refund, a partial refund, or a return, depending on the problem. The buyer's refund request period is 2 calendar days.
The Refund Policy covers three situations: the item never shipped or is lost, it arrived damaged, or it is significantly not as described. Buyers who simply change their mind are not covered. If a buyer's claim is approved after a return, the refund goes back to them and your pending money does not reach you. To keep disputes rare, use accurate photos and descriptions, pack well, and keep proof of shipping. For more on refunds and returns, see how Vinted works for sellers.
ID checks: why Vinted can pause your withdrawals
An identity check is one reason Vinted gives for paused withdrawals. Vinted explains that Adyen, as a regulated financial institution, must run a "Know Your Customer" (KYC) procedure to meet anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing requirements.
According to Vinted's help center, the checks work in tiers:
- Tier 1: you may be asked for a document, such as your SSN if it was not requested at activation, a passport, a driver's license or a US visa, if you reach the sales limits (which include canceled transactions, and are set by Adyen) or if your activity looks suspicious.
- Tier 2: at a higher sales limit, you may be asked for a bank statement.
- Rare cases: Adyen may ask for further details such as proof of address.
Vinted does not publish the sales thresholds. What it does say is what happens if a check is requested: your withdrawals are paused, and you cannot make additional withdrawals until you complete the verification. If you never provide the documents, Adyen might restrict you from using or withdrawing your earnings. A document that looks suspicious or fraudulent will be rejected and may lead to your Wallet being suspended. The document must be valid, clearly visible and complete (both sides).
The fix is simply to finish the check when it appears. Keep your account details accurate from day one, because a name that does not match your bank account is one of the three reasons Vinted lists for a failed withdrawal.
Withdrawal failed or money not in your bank account
Vinted's help page on withdrawal issues covers three cases.
It has not appeared in your bank account. Allow up to 5 business days from the withdrawal date, and check your bank statements starting from that date. The amount received should match the amount withdrawn. If nothing has arrived after 5 business days, log in, press Contact us at the end of the withdrawal issues page, say when the withdrawal started, and attach screenshots of your bank statement showing all incoming payments since that date. The statement should include your full name (matching your Wallet name), your account number, your bank's address and code, and the statement date. You can hide unrelated details and amounts.
It failed. When a withdrawal fails, the money does not leave your Wallet. Vinted lists three reasons:
- Your bank account number was blocked by the payment provider
- The amount is below the $0.10 minimum
- The account does not match your Wallet details, for example a name mismatch
According to the same withdrawal issues page, if your payment provider is Vinted Pay, the name on your Wallet must match the name on your bank account, and you can update it by completing a quick identity verification in your settings. If your provider is not Vinted Pay, you have to contact Vinted to change your Wallet name. You can see your provider in your Wallet settings.
You sent it to the wrong account. Withdrawals cannot be canceled once started. If you withdrew to a closed or non-existent account, Vinted says the payment will be returned to your Wallet within 14 calendar days. If you withdrew to an account that is not yours, it may be returned within 15 business days. Once it is back, re-enter your withdrawal details carefully and try again. If it bounces back again or never returns, Vinted tells you to contact your bank.
Can you get paid on Vinted with PayPal or Cash App?
Vinted's US help pages describe one payout route: a withdrawal in US dollars to a bank or other financial institution account, using an account number and routing number. They do not list PayPal or Cash App as withdrawal options, and the withdrawal screen asks for "Add bank account." Vinted does not publish a list of supported institutions, so if your money lives in an online bank or fintech account, check whether the account has a routing and account number and whether the app accepts it.
Do you pay taxes on what you get paid?
A payout alone does not tell you whether you owe tax. For personal items, the IRS looks at whether you sold at a gain or at a loss, and a Form 1099-K can come into play above federal thresholds, although we found no Vinted help page that describes tax forms. We explain who may file it, the rule of more than $20,000 in more than 200 transactions, state thresholds and which records to keep in Does Vinted send a 1099-K?.

Mistakes that delay your Vinted payout
- Not activating the Wallet before the first sale. Vinted gives you 5 business days (help page) or 5 calendar days (User Terms) to verify, and you must do it before you can send the item.
- Shipping with a different label or carrier. Vinted can cancel the order and refund the buyer if you do not use the prepaid label for the carrier the buyer chose.
- Waiting until the last day to ship. The 5 business day deadline counts from the purchase, so leave time for the label and drop-off.
- Using one bank account for two Vinted profiles. Withdrawals from both will fail.
- Ignoring an identity check request. Withdrawals stay paused until you complete it.
- Spending the balance by accident. Available balance is applied to your next Vinted purchase automatically, so withdraw first if you want cash.
- Misspelling the account number or including spaces. Withdrawals cannot be canceled, so double-check before you save.
Keep track of payouts and real profit
A payout tells you when money arrived, not how much each sale really left you after packaging and Bumps. If you sell on Vinted and eBay, the numbers also sit in two different places. When Vinteer opens in the US, it will import your sales and purchases so sellers can see revenue, costs and stock in one view. FAQ
Conclusion
On Vinted in the US, you get paid through the Wallet: pending balance while the order is in progress, available balance once it is completed, then a withdrawal to a US bank account in up to 5 business days. Activate the Wallet before your first sale, use a bank account that is only linked to one profile, ship early, and finish any identity check as soon as it appears. Plan for roughly one to three weeks from sale to bank (our estimate from Vinted's published windows, not a Vinted promise), and remember that unwithdrawn money is spent automatically on your next Vinted purchase.
