Vinted shipping for US sellers: buyer-paid prepaid label, USPS, FedEx and SpeedX, 5 business days to ship

The buyer pays for shipping on Vinted, not the seller. In the US, the buyer sees the shipping price at checkout and picks the carrier. When the order is paid, Vinted gives you a prepaid shipping label, so you pack the item, drop it off, and the label costs you nothing. Your payout is the item price, because Vinted also charges sellers $0 in selling fees (see Vinted fees for the full breakdown).

That covers the headline, but a few details decide whether shipping goes smoothly or costs you a sale: how the price is set, which carriers you can offer, how long you have to ship, and what happens if a package is lost. This guide goes through each one using Vinted's own help pages.

Vinteer is not affiliated with Vinted

This guide summarizes Vinted's public help pages as read on October 22, 2026. Vinted can change shipping prices, carriers and rules at any time, so check the checkout screen and the Help Center before you rely on a number.

Who pays for shipping on Vinted?

The buyer. Vinted states it plainly: shipping is always paid by the buyer, who sees the total shipping cost at checkout before confirming the purchase. The seller does not add a shipping price to the listing, and nothing is deducted from the seller for the label.

Here is what that looks like on a $40 jacket (the shipping figure is only an illustration, because the real price depends on the order):

LineItem price
Buyer pays$40.00
Seller receives$40.00
LineVinted fee
Buyer paysabout $2.70 *
Seller receives$0
LineShipping (example)
Buyer pays$5.00
Seller receives$0
LineTotal
Buyer paysabout $47.70
Seller receives$40.00

* Vinted says its fee is usually 5% + $0.70, so $2.70 on a $40 item, and the exact amount is shown at checkout. See the Vinted fee calculator to run your own numbers.

Two practical consequences follow for sellers:

  • You do not build shipping into your price to protect your margin, but a high shipping price can still push a buyer away. Lighter, smaller packages cost the buyer less, and Vinted notes that lower shipping costs attract more buyers.
  • Returns are the exception. If a buyer returns an item, Vinted says the buyer pays return shipping unless the seller offers to cover it. If the return is approved, the refund includes the original shipping fee the buyer paid.

How much is shipping on Vinted in the US?

Vinted does not publish a rate card for the US. Its help pages say the same thing for every carrier: shipping rates depend on the package size and on both the buyer's and the seller's locations, and the buyer sees the total at checkout. On its "Great shipping prices" page, updated October 9, 2026, Vinted adds that price also depends on carrier availability and order value, and that prices can change.

What Vinted does confirm in dollars and rules:

  • New sellers ship free for their first three sales. Shipping is free for a new seller's first three sales, applied automatically at checkout. New buyers also get free shipping on their first three purchases.
  • SpeedX to a Vinted Go shop is free. Orders sent to a Vinted Go shop with the shipping partner SpeedX continue to ship for free, and Vinted says it is expanding that network, so it depends on your area.
  • Shipping prices apply to US domestic orders only. International shipping is excluded from these shipping deals.

Because the buyer pays, "how much does it cost me?" has a short answer for a seller: $0. The better question is "how much will my buyer pay?", and for that you can only know the number once a real order or the checkout screen shows it. If you want a feel for it, open one of your own listings as a test buyer would, or look at similar listings near you.

Why is Vinted shipping so cheap?

Searchers often notice that Vinted shipping looks low compared with other marketplaces. Vinted does not explain its carrier pricing publicly, so we will not guess at it. What its own pages do show is a deliberate effort to keep buyer shipping prices low: the free-shipping offers for new members, free SpeedX delivery to Vinted Go shops, and the stated reasoning that when buyers can save on shipping, they are more likely to buy. Remember the prices you see today can change, and the free offers apply only to the first three purchases or sales.

How Vinted shipping works for sellers, step by step

  1. List the item with measurements. In the US the listing form asks for the package's length, width, height and weight, then shows the shipping options that can carry it. Approximations are fine, and smaller packages usually cost the buyer less.
  2. A buyer pays with "Buy now." The buyer picks a carrier at checkout and pays the shipping price. Only orders paid through "Buy now" get the prepaid label, tracking and protection.
  3. Get the label. Open the conversation with the buyer and press "Get shipping label." It is generated in the app and sent to your email. Depending on the carrier you can print it, or use a QR code at the drop-off location.
  4. Pack the item. Use sturdy packaging that fits snugly and fill empty space. Stick the label flat on the largest side, with the barcode fully visible, and remove old labels.
  5. Drop it off or schedule a pickup. USPS lets you ship from a post office or have the package picked up at home. FedEx and SpeedX ship from their own drop-off locations.
  6. Track it. Both you and the buyer follow the package in the conversation. Tracking can take up to 48 hours to appear on Vinted after you send it.
  7. Get paid. Once the order is complete, Vinted says you receive your earnings within 2 days, and they move from "Pending balance" to "Available balance."

Use the label Vinted generated, and the carrier the buyer chose

Vinted says an order sent with a different label or carrier can be canceled automatically, and you can get automatic negative feedback. Once the label is generated, you cannot swap it for another carrier's label.

Vinted shipping options for US sellers

The carriers depend on where you and the buyer are. According to Vinted's help pages:

CarrierUSPS
Where it shipsAll 50 states, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico; post office or home pickup
Lost or damaged package (Vinted help)Up to $100 per package (up to $27 between the US and UK)
CarrierFedEx
Where it shipsDomestic shipping within the continental US, from a FedEx location
Lost or damaged package (Vinted help)Up to $100 per package
CarrierSpeedX
Where it shipsSpecific regional zip codes, from a Vinted Go shop; also US and UK
Lost or damaged package (Vinted help)Up to $15 per package (up to $27 between the US and UK)
CarrierBetter Trucks
Where it shipsDomestic shipping within the continental US, specific regional zip codes only
Lost or damaged package (Vinted help)Not listed on Vinted's compensation page

You choose which options you offer. Go to Profile, Settings, then Shipping (called Postage on some screens) and use the toggles under "Shipping as a seller," either "From your address" or "From a drop-off point." Three things to know:

  • Offering more options helps. Vinted says the more shipping options you offer, the faster your items are likely to sell, and it recommends enabling all of them.
  • Some options cannot be turned off. This guarantees that at least one option is always available, and you cannot disable international shipments.
  • A disabled option can still appear at checkout if it is the only way the buyer can complete the purchase. If you cannot ship with that carrier, you can cancel the order without receiving negative feedback.

Changes to your settings apply to future orders only. After an item sells, the buyer's carrier choice cannot change, and the only fix is to cancel and repeat the order.

Vinted shipping sizes and weight limits

Vinted does not use fixed US size names such as Small, Medium and Large for a single item. It suggests a size when you list, based on the measurements and weight you enter, and shows each carrier's exact size and weight limits on the listing form. Vinted does not publish a single table of limits in the Help Center, so the form is the source to trust.

A few rules worth knowing:

  • Measure the packed item. Fold, roll or disassemble it if you safely can, then measure its longest, widest and highest parts.
  • Too big or too heavy means no listing. If the packed item is over the limits of the available shipping options, you cannot list it on Vinted.
  • Choose the size before the buyer pays. After checkout, the package size and carrier cannot change. If your package exceeds the size or weight limit at the drop-off point, you or the buyer may be charged extra by the carrier, and Vinted does not refund an extra cost paid directly to the carrier.
  • Bundles go in one box. For a bundle, place all items in one package. Vinted lets you correct the size of a bundle at the drop-off point at no extra cost, and will compensate an extra charge if you send the receipt.

Packaging can be simple. Vinted recommends a padded bag or cardboard box for clothes and shoes, not a bag or envelope without padding, and a sturdy box with cushioning for fragile items. It also suggests taking photos of the item and of the packed package, inside and outside, before shipping, because those photos can resolve a transit dispute faster.

Deadlines: how long you have to ship

  • 5 business days to send the item after the order. If you miss it, the order is canceled automatically and the buyer is refunded.
  • An extension of 3 or 5 more business days is possible if you ask the buyer and they accept. You can request it from the conversation screen, before or after you generate the label.
  • 48 hours for tracking. If tracking has not updated after you shipped, press "I confirm I've sent the order" so the order is not canceled while tracking catches up.
  • Vacation mode hides your listings for up to 90 days if you cannot ship for a while.

Transit time depends on the carrier and the distance. Vinted says First-Class Package Service and Priority Mail typically take 1 to 3 business days, and buyers can see an estimated delivery date at checkout.

What if a package is lost or damaged?

Orders paid with "Buy now" are covered by Vinted's Refund Policy, and the buyer has 2 days after Vinted notifies them that the item should have arrived to press "I have an issue" or "Everything is OK."

For sellers, Vinted may compensate you for a lost or damaged package if all three conditions are met:

  1. You sent it with the prepaid Vinted-generated label.
  2. You packed it properly.
  3. The shipping provider has confirmed the loss or damage.

The compensation amounts in the table above are set by the carriers and Vinted, and an investigation can take several weeks. If you shipped without the Vinted label, you must contact the carrier directly.

Vinted tells buyers that a package can take up to 25 business days to arrive. After that, or when tracking shows "Package seems to be lost," the buyer can press "I have an issue." Keep your proof of shipping, such as a copy of the label or the drop-off receipt, until the order is completed.

If you receive compensation for a lost package, you agree to transfer ownership of that package and its contents to Vinted Go Inc.

Mistakes that cost sellers money

  • Waiting until day 5. Ship early. If the label will not generate, Vinted suggests waiting a few hours and trying again, but the 5 business days keep running.
  • Using the wrong package size. An oversized package can be refused or charged extra at the drop-off point.
  • Skipping photos of the packed parcel. They are your best evidence if the buyer reports damage.
  • Packing electronics without preparing them. Vinted requires you to disconnect linked accounts and factory reset a device before shipping, and a package can hold a maximum of two devices with batteries.
  • Shipping outside Vinted. If you take a buyer off the platform, tracking, compensation and the Refund Policy do not apply.

Keep track of what shipping does to your profit

Because buyers pay for shipping, Vinted shipping rarely touches a seller's margin directly. The costs that do show up are packaging supplies, the time spent at the drop-off point, Bumps, and the occasional lost or damaged package that is only partly compensated. Conclusion

On Vinted in the US, the buyer pays for shipping, the seller gets a prepaid label, and you keep the full item price. The work on your side is practical: measure carefully, offer as many carriers as you can, ship well inside the 5 business day window, and keep photos and proof of shipping. Check the checkout screen for the real price, because Vinted can change its rates and free-shipping offers.
