What Sells Best on Vinted? What We Can Verify and What to List First (2026)

What sells best on Vinted in the US? What Vinted has actually published, which brands and categories to list first from your own closet, and how to price them.

What sells best on Vinted is branded, clean, correctly sized clothing and accessories that are priced under their retail value, photographed well and described precisely. Designer bags and shoes, outerwear, denim, sneakers and kids' bundles are the usual candidates, but there is no official US ranking behind that list. Vinted has not published a US best-seller report. The only brand-level sales data it has released covers European markets, and every "top 10 items" article you will find online, including the ones we read for this one, rests on the author's own experience rather than published data. So this guide separates three things: what Vinted has actually published, what is reasonable advice for the closet you already own, and how to find out what sells for you, with the numbers.

What sells best on Vinted: the short answer

If you want a list to start from, it looks like this:

  1. Branded clothing in good condition, especially outerwear, denim, sneakers and pieces from labels people search for by name.
  2. Designer bags, shoes and accessories, with the authenticity photos Vinted asks for.
  3. Kids' clothing sold as bundles, because children outgrow things long before they wear them out.
  4. Items from Vinted's other categories (Home, Electronics, Books & Media, Hobbies & collectibles, Sports) that you no longer use and that are cheap to pack.

What these have in common is not a trend but a mechanism. Vinted ranks and personalizes listings from the item's data (category, brand, size, color, photos, condition) and from what buyers have tapped, favorited or bought, per its Help Center. An item with a clear brand, an exact size and a believable price gets shown to the people looking for exactly that. The rest of this article is about making your listings fit that mechanism.

Own items only, and not affiliated with Vinted

This guide is for selling things you already own. Vinted's commercial selling rules say a standard account cannot be used to source items in order to resell them at a profit, and Vinted Pro is not currently available in the US (see our guide to Vinted Pro in the US). Vinteer is not affiliated with Vinted. When Vinted's Help Center and this page disagree, the Help Center wins.

What Vinted has actually published (and what it hasn't)

Before the advice, here are the official data points we could find that bear on the question, with the market each one covers. The pattern is clear: plenty of European data, almost nothing US-specific about what sells.

What it says"The average price for fashion items on Vinted is 72% lower than original retail prices for new items"
What it means for youAbout 28% of the new price (our arithmetic), inside the 20% to 80% ranges of Vinted's US pricing guide, but an average across all fashion items, so the two are not directly comparable

Two things are missing from that table, and you should be suspicious of anyone who fills the gap with confident numbers: a US category ranking and a US brand ranking. If a site tells you that a specific item "sells in 2 to 5 days" or that a given brand "has a 90% sell-through rate", ask where the data comes from. In the popular guides we read for this article, we found no sources for the sales claims.

Which categories can you sell?

The Vinted catalog in the US has nine top-level categories: Women, Men, Designer, Kids, Home, Electronics, Books & Media, Hobbies & collectibles and Sports (Vinted: How it works). Our guide to how Vinted works for sellers covers what each one includes. Here is how to think about each as a place to put things you already own. These are our recommendations, not Vinted statistics.

CategoryWomen and Men
Good first candidates from your own homeBranded jackets, coats, jeans, dresses, sneakers, boots, leather bags
Watch out forUnbranded basics, which are hard to find in search and tend to compete on price alone
CategoryDesigner
Good first candidates from your own homeBags, shoes, belts, scarves, watches with proof of purchase
Watch out forVinted asks for at least 3 close-up photos of authenticity details (labels, stitching, serial numbers or a receipt). Counterfeits are banned
CategoryKids
Good first candidates from your own homeOutgrown clothes sold as a set by size, shoes, toys, books
Watch out forSome baby items are not allowed (see below). Sizes must be exact
CategoryHome
Good first candidates from your own homeDecor, kitchenware, bedding in good condition
Watch out forShipping cost can eat the price of bulky or fragile goods
CategoryElectronics
Good first candidates from your own homeWorking devices, headphones, accessories
Watch out forElectronic devices with visible damage and non-functioning appliances are not allowed
CategoryBooks & Media, Hobbies & collectibles
Good first candidates from your own homeBooks you finished, board games, collectibles, craft supplies
Watch out forAge-rated items (video games, films) need their age-rating labels
CategorySports

Watch out forCycling helmets are on the prohibited list

The rules in the right-hand column come from Vinted's Items not allowed and branded items photo pages; the rest is our judgment. For the full list of what you cannot sell, see the section further down.

Brands: what to take from the luxury data

The European luxury report is the only official brand data, so let's use it for what it can tell you, and no more.

What it supports:

  • Luxury labels sell on Vinted. Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Gucci lead the European list, and Hermès, Dior, Saint Laurent and Prada follow.
  • Local taste varies. In the same report, UK buyers favor Mulberry and Canada Goose while Italy leans toward Fendi and Gucci. Brand demand is regional, so it would be risky to assume the European list applies in the US unchanged.
  • The most expensive items in the data (a Hermès Kelly bag, a Rolex Datejust, a Chanel flap bag) show that high-value pieces change hands, which makes proof of authenticity more important.

What it does not tell you: how fast any brand sells in the US, what price it sells at, or how everyday labels (jeans, athletic wear, outdoor brands) perform. For these, rely on your own market research, covered below.

Whatever the brand, fill in the brand field. Vinted lists "No brand" as an option, but its Help Center shows that brand is one of the attributes used to personalize the feed, and buyers can follow brands to get their items in their feed (Personalizing your Vinted feed). A listing without a brand misses those buyers.

What makes any item sell faster

Because the category data is thin, the reliable advice comes from what Vinted itself says helps. Its Selling your items faster page lists:

  • A discount for buyers who purchase more than one item from you. Bundles reward the buyer and save you a separate pack-and-ship for each piece.
  • Regular uploads. Followers get notifications about new items and price drops.
  • High-quality photos and detailed descriptions, so shoppers feel confident.
  • A verified profile and a message in your About me section.
  • Offers to buyers who favorited your item or started a conversation. When someone favorites an item, you get a notification and can send a discount through "Make an offer" (Vinted Help: Favorites).
  • Different shipping options, which gives buyers more delivery choices.
  • A Bump, which makes a listing more visible in buyers' feeds, for a fee that depends on the item and the duration (Vinted price list).

New sellers also get a small advantage: Vinted's shipping prices page (updated October 9, 2026) says sellers have free shipping on their first three sales, applied automatically at checkout. For how shipping works the rest of the time, see our Vinted shipping guide.

Price it where it sells

Pricing is the one area where Vinted gives US sellers actual numbers. Its pricing guide recommends a share of the retail price based on condition:

Item conditionNew / Like New
Suggested price60% to 80% of the retail price
Item conditionVery good
Suggested price40% to 60% of the retail price
Item conditionGood / Satisfactory
Suggested price20% to 40% of the retail price

The same page adds that setting a price lower than the catalog average might help you sell faster, that you should keep seasonality in mind (a discount may help items that do not fit the current season), and that prices can range from $1 to $1,000 and can be edited later.

A worked example

Say you own a jacket that cost $120 new, in very good condition.

  • Vinted's range for "Very good" is 40% to 60% of retail: $48 to $72.
  • You list it at $65 and a buyer offers $58, within the maximum 40% under asking that Vinted allows (Making an offer). You accept.
  • You pay no selling fee, and the buyer pays shipping. You keep $58.00.
  • The buyer pays the item price plus shipping plus the Vinted fee, usually 5% + $0.70. On $58 that is about $3.60 on top, which makes the buyer's total higher than your price. That is why a price near the top of the range can feel expensive once the buyer sees the checkout total.

To see the buyer's side for any price, use the free Vinted fee calculator. For the full fee picture, read our Vinted fees guide.

How to find out what sells for you

Vinted does not publish a seller-facing "best sellers" list that we could find, but you can run a small market study with free tools:

  1. Search the catalog the way a buyer would. Vinted says the catalog "includes every Vinted listing," and you can search by keywords (its example is "skinny black H&M jeans") and add filters (Finding items). Search your item with its brand and size, and see how many comparable listings exist and at what prices.
  2. Check price against condition. Compare your item with listings in the same condition, then position yours using the percentages above.
  3. Watch your own signals. You get notified when someone favorites your item, and you can follow up with an offer. Items that attract favorites but no purchase are usually priced too high or missing a key detail in the photos.
  4. Keep a simple log. For each sale, write down the item, brand, size, listing price, sale price and the days it took to sell. After ten or twenty sales you will have a better answer to "what sells best" than any article, including this one.
  5. Retire what does not move. If a listing sits, change the first photo, tighten the title and lower the price before you think about a Bump. Vinted does not refund Bumps on hidden or removed listings (Listing hidden or removed).

When Vinteer opens in the US, it will import your Vinted and eBay sales and purchases, so you can build the log in step 4 in one place. Join the waitlist.

What you cannot sell

Some of the things people expect to sell well are not allowed, and an item that violates the rules is hidden or removed (Items not allowed on Vinted). The list includes:

  • Counterfeits and items that infringe intellectual property rights.
  • Certain children's and baby items, such as car seat bases, kids' heating pads, hot water bottles, baby crib bumpers and inclined sleepers.
  • Recalled products.
  • Used cosmetics and underwear bottoms, plus food, drinks and other consumables.
  • Vitamins, food supplements and medicinal products.
  • Sharp knives and bladed tools with a pointed tip.
  • Live animals and pets, and items containing fur, reptile skin, shell or ivory.
  • Devices that have been blocked by a carrier, reported lost or stolen, or jailbroken.

The page has more, so read it before listing anything unusual. We summarize it in our guide to what you can sell on Vinted.

Conclusion

What sells best on Vinted is not a secret list. It is branded, correctly described items in good condition, priced at the share of retail that Vinted itself recommends, with photos that answer the buyer's questions. Vinted's published sales data is European, and the US category and brand rankings people quote online are not backed by anything you can check. So list what you own, price it by condition, and let your own sales tell you what to list next.
