Vinted postage for UK sellers: buyer-paid prepaid label, Evri, InPost and Royal Mail, 5 business days to send

On Vinted in the UK, the buyer pays for postage, not the seller. The buyer picks the carrier and sees the postage price at checkout. Once the order is paid, Vinted gives you a prepaid label (a QR code or a printable label, depending on the carrier), you pack the item, drop it off and keep the full item price. You have 5 business days to send it, and you must use the label Vinted generated for that order.

This guide covers carriers, size and weight limits, labels with no printer, tracking and lost parcels, using Vinted's own UK help pages and the carriers' own sites. Where Vinted does not publish a number (postage prices, for instance), we say so rather than guess.

Vinteer is not affiliated with Vinted

This guide summarises Vinted UK's public help pages, price list and terms as read on 7 November 2026 (the terms are the version applicable from 8 October 2026). The carrier pages quoted were also read on 7 November 2026. Vinted can change carriers, limits and rules at any time, so check the checkout and the Help Centre before you rely on a figure.

Who pays for postage on Vinted?

The buyer. Vinted's help page says buyers pay for shipping and choose their shipping provider at checkout, while sellers choose which providers to make available and receive prepaid labels each time they sell. The terms add that the price varies with the parcel size, the route, the carrier and any discounts.

For a £20.00 item, the fee and postage are shown to the buyer at checkout, so we do not invent them:

LineItem price
Buyer pays£20.00
Seller receives£20.00
LineVinted fee
Buyer paysShown at checkout
Seller receives£0.00
LinePostage
Buyer paysShown at checkout
Seller receives£0.00
LineTotal
Buyer paysItem + fee + postage
Seller receives£20.00

Vinted says there are no fees for uploading or selling items and that you receive full payment for the item into your Vinted Balance. It publishes the Vinted fee as "usually 3% to 8% + £0.3 to £0.8", paid by the buyer at checkout (see Vinted fees and the Vinted fee calculator).

Two practical consequences:

  • You cannot set your own postage price. Vinted's offers page says you cannot offer or request a lower price for things like postage or fees, so you can only lower the item price.
  • High postage can still cost you a sale, even though you never pay it. Vinted says shipping rates depend on parcel size, which changes what the buyer pays.

Returns differ: Vinted's refund policy says the buyer pays return postage, though you can cover it by providing a Vinted-generated return label.

How much is Vinted postage?

Vinted does not publish a UK postage price list. The carrier help pages say rates depend on the parcel size (and, for DPD, AnyVan and DHL Express, on where the parcel goes from and to), and the buyer sees the exact amount at checkout. The Vinted price list (last updated 8 October 2026) covers the Vinted fee, verification services, Bumps and Showcase, with no postage prices.

So "how much does Vinted postage cost?" has no single honest answer. Carriers publish their own prices for parcels sent directly, but those are not what Vinted charges for a Vinted label.

Is there free postage on Vinted UK?

We found no free-postage offer in the UK help pages on shipping, offers, bundles, vouchers and fees that we read on 7 November 2026. What the pages do show:

  • Referral vouchers do not cover postage. The £5 vouchers apply only to the item or bundle price, not to shipping costs, the Vinted fee or paid extras.
  • Bundles can reduce postage. Vinted says bundling listings from one seller can help buyers save on shipping. A bundle can hold up to 100 items, but heavy or bulky items, and items bought with a verification service, must be bought one at a time. Pro sellers cannot offer bundle discounts.

Offers can change, so check the checkout screen.

Which carriers does Vinted UK use?

Vinted's "Shipping on Vinted" page lists these providers for integrated shipping in the UK: Evri, InPost, DPD, Royal Mail, Relay, AnyVan and DHL Express. Which ones a buyer sees depends on your postage settings, the carrier's coverage and its parcel limits.

A few things the table cannot show:

  • InPost coverage. Vinted's page says InPost works within mainland England, Scotland and Wales, and only where there are InPost points near both buyer and seller. InPost's own Vinted page says Northern Ireland is now live, so check what a buyer is offered at checkout.
  • Do not use a Royal Mail postbox. Vinted warns that Royal Mail cannot then register the collection, you will not get the tracking events as proof of shipping, and no compensation is offered. Royal Mail's own Vinted page describes the product as its Tracked 48 service, dropped off at a Royal Mail shop or Post Office.
  • Verification orders need integrated shipping. For items bought with, or eligible for, Item Verification or Electronics Verification, it is the only option.

Is Vinted Go available in the UK?

It is not one of the shipping providers on Vinted's UK shipping page, and the Vinted Go website, read on 7 November 2026, lists France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Finland, not the UK. The name does appear in the UK terms (in the packaging rules and the tracking clause) and in Vinted's seller-compensation page, which names Vinted Go UAB as the company that takes ownership of lost parcels. We found no page offering Vinted Go as a delivery choice to UK buyers.

Choosing which options to offer

Go to Profile, Settings, then Postage and use the toggles under "Shipping as a seller". Vinted's advice is to offer as many options as you can, because that improves your chance of a sale.

  • Some options cannot be switched off (greyed-out toggles), so at least one is always available.
  • A disabled option can still show at checkout if it is the only way that buyer can complete the purchase. If you cannot ship with it, you can cancel the order without negative feedback.
  • Changes apply to future orders only. Once an item is sold, the carrier, label type, address and parcel size cannot be changed; the only fix is to cancel and repeat the order.

Vinted parcel sizes and weight limits

Vinted's UK help pages do not publish Small, Medium and Large bands. Parcel sizes are selected automatically from the details you give (category, item size, brand and more), and you see each carrier's exact limits when you list. The parcel size limits page does publish this table of maximum dimensions and weights:

Item typeStandard items (clothing, shoes, bags, jewellery, accessories, cosmetics, tableware, books, toys, games)

Notes on reading it:

  • Evri's formula. Vinted prints the Evri limit as "L × 2xW × 2xH ≤ 245", which we read as Evri's own rule: add the two shortest sides, double that, add the longest side, and keep the total under 245 cm. For a 40 x 30 x 10 cm parcel that is 40 + 60 + 20 = 120 cm, well inside the limit.
  • Evri's own site. Evri says ParcelShop and courier parcels can be up to 120 cm long, lockers up to 62 x 39 x 57 cm, and its weight limit is 15 kg. If a carrier's page and Vinted's differ for a Vinted label, follow Vinted's listing screen.
  • InPost. The 64 x 38 x 41 cm figure matches the Large compartment on InPost's size guide (41 x 38 x 64 cm). InPost also has Extra Small (4 x 23 x 40 cm), Small (8 x 38 x 64 cm) and Medium (19 x 38 x 64 cm) compartments, so a flat parcel can use a smaller one.
  • Royal Mail. Vinted's table names the product "Royal Mail 2nd Class Medium Parcel", while Royal Mail's Vinted page refers to Tracked 48 and Vinted's Royal Mail page mentions "Tracked 48 Signed For" for higher-value home deliveries. We cannot say how the two names map, so go by the label.
  • DPD and Relay are not in the table, so we cannot give a Vinted-specific limit for them.

What if your parcel is the wrong size?

  • Measure the packed parcel, not just the item. Fold or disassemble the item if you safely can, pick packaging about the same size, then measure the finished parcel. If it is over the limits of every available option, you cannot list it.
  • Size and carrier are fixed once the buyer pays. Some carriers let you use a larger size at no extra cost, but the carrier may refuse the parcel or charge extra.
  • Royal Mail extra charges. If Vinted selected the size automatically and Royal Mail charged you extra, Vinted says it may be able to compensate you. If you chose the wrong size yourself, it usually cannot.
  • Changing size at the drop-off. At a locker, follow the screen to pick another size and do not close the door until asked. At a parcel shop or post office, hand over the parcel as usual and the carrier changes the size.

Vinted shipping labels: printing, QR codes and no printer

After a buyer pays with "Buy now", open the conversation with the buyer and press Get shipping label. Vinted also emails the label and instructions. What you need depends on the carrier:

CarrierEvri
Do you need a printer? No. Choose a printable label, or a digital label (a QR code) to print at the drop-off point. Vinted's Evri page says most parcelshops have a "Print In Store" device, but to check the location before you go.
CarrierInPost
Do you need a printer? No. Choose a QR code and scan it at the locker or show it to shop staff. InPost's own page adds a 6-digit drop-off code you can type on the locker screen; a printed label is optional.
CarrierRoyal Mail
Do you need a printer? No. You receive a QR code in the app and by email, scan it at the drop-off point or show it to staff, who print the label.
CarrierDPD UK, Relay
Do you need a printer? No. Show the QR code to staff, who print the label.
CarrierDHL Express
Do you need a printer?Optional. Print it yourself or download it and scan it at a parcel shop. A courier collection needs a printed label.

So you can sell on Vinted without a printer with the main carriers. Then:

  1. Pack the item properly. Vinted asks for sturdy outer packaging that fits snugly, empty space filled, strong tape, and the label stuck flat on the largest side with the barcode fully visible (remove old labels). A padded bag or cardboard box is fine for clothes and shoes; a bag or envelope without padding is not.
  2. Photograph the packed parcel, inside and outside. Vinted says the photos can help resolve a transit issue faster.
  3. Drop it off at the point the carrier instructions give, and keep your proof of shipping (label copy, drop-off receipt or email) until the order is completed.
  4. Use the label for this order only. If a different label or the wrong shipping option is used, the order is cancelled automatically.

If the parcel is not packed properly and is damaged, Vinted says it may have to cancel the order and refund the buyer, and you may not receive compensation.

How long do you have to send a Vinted parcel?

  • 5 business days from the purchase. If Vinted receives no tracking update or confirmation within that time, the order is cancelled the next business day.
  • Extensions. You can ask the buyer for 3 or 5 more business days from the conversation screen, before or after generating the label. The new deadline only applies once the buyer accepts.
  • If tracking is slow to appear, press "I confirm I've sent the order" so the order is not cancelled while tracking catches up.
  • Holiday mode hides your listings for up to 90 days if you cannot send items for a while.

How long does Vinted delivery take?

Vinted says delivery time depends on the carrier the buyer chooses and your handling time. Typically, domestic shipping takes 2 to 5 business days and international shipping 4 to 8 business days, usually excluding weekends and major national holidays. Orders with a verification service can take up to 10 business days. Buyers have limited time to collect from a point: 7 calendar days for DPD according to Vinted, and three days for InPost according to InPost.

Once the order is complete, Vinted says your payment moves from "Pending balance" to "Available balance" within 2 days. For Pro sellers an order is completed automatically 14 days after it is received, unless the buyer returns it (see our Vinted Pro UK guide for who has to use Pro).

Vinted tracking: how it works

You and the buyer both follow the parcel from the conversation screen by pressing Track parcel. Vinted notes:

  • Allow up to 48 hours after sending for tracking to first appear.
  • Tracking is only available for items bought with "Buy now" and sent according to the in-app instructions.
  • Parcels can take up to 25 business days to arrive, and Vinted says most parcels arrive despite delays.
  • If tracking says delivered but the buyer has nothing, they should press "I have an issue" within 2 days of the order being marked as delivered.
  • If more than 25 business days have passed, or tracking shows "Parcel seems to be lost", the buyer presses "I have an issue".

What happens if a Vinted parcel is lost or damaged?

A buyer paying with "Buy now" from a standard seller has 2 calendar days from Vinted's notice that the order should have arrived (or seems lost) to confirm "Everything is OK" or press "I have an issue"; Pro sellers' orders have an extended 14-day timeframe. For disputes, see our Vinted customer service guide.

For sellers, Vinted's help page says that whether you are a standard or Pro seller, you can get compensation when you ship with a prepaid Vinted-generated label and the parcel is confirmed lost or damaged by the shipping provider. The maximum compensation limit is £500. The terms add that the amount may depend on which carrier was used. The conditions:

  1. You used the Vinted-generated label.
  2. The parcel was packed properly (Vinted can only compensate a damaged parcel that was).
  3. The carrier confirms the loss or damage. Vinted warns that investigating can take several weeks.

If you sent without the Vinted label, you have to contact the carrier directly. For items sent to a verification hub, Vinted says it compensates the full item value for parcels lost or damaged at the hub, within the general £500 limit. If you receive compensation for a lost parcel, you agree to transfer ownership of the parcel and its contents to Vinted Go UAB, the company the help page names.

Can you send Vinted parcels abroad from the UK?

Vinted's shipping page says the UK is connected with the US and Australia (InPost covers the UK to the US and Australia, Royal Mail the UK to Australia, according to their Vinted help pages). The international transactions policy sets the limits that matter:

  • Only items weighing 2 kg or less can be bought or sold between the UK and Australia, and from the US to the UK.
  • US buyers cannot buy from UK sellers, with limited exceptions, and UK-US transactions are limited to some US states.
  • US items over £120 and Australian items over £110 (excluding the Vinted fee, shipping and import VAT) are not available to UK buyers.
  • You must follow the buyer's country laws on product safety, customs and tax.

Read the policy before listing anything for an overseas buyer.

Keep postage from muddying your profit figures

Because the buyer pays for postage, it rarely hits your margin directly. Packaging, time at drop-offs, paid extras like Bumps and the occasional partly covered lost parcel do. Vinteer will help Vinted and eBay sellers and resellers in the UK track sales, real profit and stock when it opens, so these small costs stay visible. It is not open yet: you can join the Vinteer waitlist. For the wider picture, read how to sell on Vinted.

Conclusion

The buyer pays for postage, you get a prepaid label and you keep the full item price. Check the size limits before you list, use the label Vinted generated, send within 5 business days and keep your drop-off proof and packed-parcel photos.
